ill fitted

London based creative collective.

Music, art, community & events.

Creating community and art through means that are considered ill fitted to the times. We’re not drawn to convenience or ease. Preferring to root ourselves in an experience that requires patience and comes with imperfections, impermanence, limitations and the subsequent character these qualities create. In a world which is progressively more connected but increasingly disengaged, we choose to walk a slower, more enriching path and invite anybody who shares our sentiment to join our little trip.

Who are we?

Beginning life as simply a group of friends brought together by the shared passion of collecting and playing records, ill Fitted has progressively become a multifaceted creative collective.

Since that first Saturday afternoon spent huddled around two decks and a mixer with drinks in hand, we’ve gone on to host our own monthly radio show, create a YouTube channel, host music led life drawing classes, organised private warehouse parties and set up a brand new underground event series.

We are drawn to the more analogue approach in most things. From vinyl to film photography to creating art with a piece of paper and a pencil. It’s not to be wanky or artsy, although we’re fully aware it can come across that way. Genuinely we find a deeper connection to the process through the boundaries imposed, a freedom in the limitations.

Ultimately, the most valued aspect of everything we do is the community that is built through these experiences. This is and always will be the motivation behind everything we do.
